Maldives Marine Expo 2022

We’re proud to mark our first appearance at the Maldives Marine Expo, hosted from August 11–13, 2022 at Central Park, Hulhumalé. From Stall B9, our team welcomed boat owners, resort operators, fishing professionals, and public sector partners to discuss real world challenges and the practical solutions that keep vessels moving reliably across the atolls.
At the heart of our display was a Doosan 160 HP marine engine now part of the HD Hyundai marine engine family. We focused on what matters most to Maldivian operators: dependable power, straightforward maintenance, and consistent performance in tropical conditions. Our technical team walked visitors through installation considerations, routine service practices, and recommended propulsion pairings, with many conversations centering on lifecycle value: choosing the right gearing, maintaining correct service intervals, and planning spares to reduce downtime.
We also introduced REV 1 lubricants to the local market engine oils, gear lubricants, and greases formulated for saltwater use. Interest was especially high around choosing oils for different duty cycles and managing service intervals during hot weather operations. Throughout the event we shared maintenance best practices from filter changes and contamination control to seasonal checks simple steps that help fleets maintain consistent performance between island routes.
The Expo gave us valuable feedback, too. Visitors asked for on island training, quicker access to critical spares, and clearer documentation for crews working away from Malé. In response, we scheduled follow up site visits, gathered data to refine our stock planning, and opened a waiting list for hands on maintenance workshops. We’re grateful for the candid conversations at Stall B9 and appreciate the organizers for creating a space where the industry can meet, learn, and grow together.
